“The Next Day“, uma das composições mais animadas do álbum homônimo, lançado por David Bowie em março de 2013, ganhou um clipe. Um pesado clipe.
O vídeo mostra Gary Oldman atuando como um padre não muito fã dos dogmas do catolicismo, Marion Cotillard com as chagas de Jesus Cristo, um sacerdote se autoflagelando, David Bowie na figura do filho de Deus e outras referências pejorativas à Igreja Católica em uma festa nonsense. O clipe só complementa a letra da música, que por si só já é uma voraz crítica a alguns ideais pregados pela Igreja.
A Liga Católica ironizou o clipe, chamando David Bowie de “idoso bissexual”. O youtube chegou a retirar o vídeo do ar, mas desculpou-se e recolocou na rede, restringindo a visualização a maiores de idade. Assista à loucura toda abaixo:
